The Middle East is a region where is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have pushed up the price of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.
In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
